Aquatic Physical Therapy

Provided by

Atlantic Rehabilitation

A hands-on approach of integrating therapeutic and kinetic activities in an aquatic environment to provide full or partial
body support in a bouyant (gravity reduced) setting using state-of-the-art water-resistive principles for effective therapeutic intervention.

An aquatic based exercise program provides a unique environment where a patient  can challenge the limits of  postural stability without fear of  the consequences normally associated with land-based exercises.  This is accomplished by the water's ability to provide both support and resistance. The patient is challenged to move outside the base of support to attempt tasks reducing the anxiety normally experienced on land.
